Coach Nick
Nick Hopson is a former collegiate and professional basketball player. He grew up in Charles County, Maryland and graduated from St. Mary’s Ryken HS. He competed collegiately at Belmont Abbey College (D2), Virginia Tech (D1) under Head Coach Buzz Williams and William Penn (NAIA). He played professionally in Bosnia, Bulgaria, Sweden and the Czech Republic.
Coach Nick created Believe Basketball to foster a lasting practice of self-belief within the athletes in his community. He did not always believe in himself and was not always believed-in by others. Despite this he was able to accomplish his dream of playing Division 1 and professional basketball. He hopes to help athletes with their own dreams and aspirations.
Coach Nick’s unconventional journey in basketball allows him a unique understanding of different levels of competition, players and skill sets.
He credits all he has done, is doing, and will ever do to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Coach Nick has 5+ years of training and coaching experience with numerous young athletes. He’s worked with skill levels spanning a wide range of age and ability but he specializes in youth ages 8-17 years old.
